The sequel to last year's GIRLZ WHO ROCK! You asked, we answered, and it's here!  A mini-festival showcasing female fronted originals bands, and female filmmakers!

Mission statement: To foster community and diversity, while increasing visibility and opportunity for women in the arts.  This is the second year of the GIRLZ WHO series. Last year it was bands. This year we're adding filmmakers. Who knows what will happen next year? Got an idea? Let me know cuz that's how it all started...

THE BEGINNINGS...

As an "older" (over 25) woman who has made her living in the arts since she graduated, Jean has seen, felt and fought to level the playing field, so to speak, by creating, providing and participating in giving women opportunities to be seen and recognized for their artistic endeavors. Starting with dance, she moved to theater, producing plays where the female roles were equal to or outnumbered the male roles (not an easy task!), to music where she produces shows that at the very least, make sure the female/male ratio is balanced. The GIRLZ WHO series is her baby, a dream, a vehicle for women to express themselves artistically where age and looks are not what "talent" is all about. So put your plastic surgery money into some new gear and ROCK!!!!!
